Yes, a year has passed and we just celebrated our First Anniversary! We spent the night at the local casino - Conrad Jupiters. We had an amazing dinner, did some gambling and enjoyed a night away from home to mark the occasion. Then, we took a week long trip to Cairnes (pronounced Cannes) for a learn to scuba course and live aboard dive trip on the Great Barrier Reef! We are both Open Water Certified PADI divers...this means we can scuba anywhere in the world, as deep as 18 meters (54 feet roughly).
I cannot describe how amazing God's earth looks from below sea level...it was amazing! We swam with neon colored fish, Giant Clams, sea turtles and even reef Sharks!!! It's was beautiful, peaceful and a perfect way to spend our anniversary! We made life long friends with so many people form all over the world - Canada, Austria, Germany, Poland, England, Holland, South Africa and of course more Aussies!! We all made one...slightly scarey....night dive together and an experience like that binds you for life!! As we all prepared to jump into the water that night, we could see the white flashes of the underbellies or SEVERAL SHARKS only feet away!! Turns out, they are just another type of fish! This is just one, of the many, adventures that Rob and I plan to experience while we are here. It was his life long dream come true and for me, it was a magical way to further bond with my husband! We love everyone and miss you all! We are doing just fine, as you can see, and are enjoying the opportunities here. So, even though you may miss us, be happy for us!
