We were awarded certificates and baptised in champagne. The first ever balloon flight took place in Paris in the 1800's. When the men finally landed in a field, they presented the farm owner with a bottle of champagne as a token of appreciation. He, like all french men, was happy to share the champagne with everyone. This started the tradition and it continues today in the Gold Coast of Australia.
